Laughology Spotlight On… Jim Rastall
Jim Rastall has been called charismatic, engaging, insightful, and hilarious. And not just by his mum; some nice things have been said by actual customers, too!
He’s a natural performer who captivates audiences with his sharp wit, down-to-earth charm, and an unnerving aptitude for name-learning. Known for his ability to read a room instantly, Jim creates a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels part of the conversation. His knack for weaving a good yarn, combined with his knack for sneaking in a cheeky laugh, makes him a shoe in for any local tapestry tournament- as well as an unforgettable keynote speaker or casual workshop maître D’.
While Jim excels at delivering one-off events, his passion lies in working with teams on long-term programmes that focus on behaviour and culture change. He says it’s because he loves seeing the lasting impact of his work, but we’re pretty sure it’s also because he secretly enjoys being part of the team by the end. Where’s the Christmas party this year? Guys? GUYS?
Before joining Laughology, Jim’s career was as colourful as his anecdotes. From his days treading the boards as an actor to consulting for creative industries, he’s gathered a wealth of experience that allows him to connect with audiences from all walks of life. His time as a leader within his own and other businesses has also given him first hand insight into the challenges – and rewards – of managing people.
Jim’s creative streak shines through in the content he develops for Laughology. He’s been instrumental in shaping our innovative programmes, including sessions on resilience and creative thinking. His public webinars are a big hit, covering topics like: "The Art of Failing Brilliantly" and "Serious About Fun – Using Humour to Solve Big Problems."
He also has a special talent for helping organisations tackle tricky subjects. His sessions on workplace communication and emotional intelligence have been described as “refreshingly real” and “packed with practical tips.”

When he’s not delivering transformative workshops or presenting on stage, Jim can often be found in a sauna or visiting friends around the country. Ideally at the same time. He’s also a firm believer in the restorative power of a good book, a great film, and a borderline painfully firm back massage. Again, all at the same time, wherever possible.
