Unconscious Bias Training workshop for A Million Ads
A Million Ads (AMA) is a dynamic and creative ad agency that works with some of the largest audio platforms in the world in the UK and US. The UK staff are in a stylish office in Liverpool Street that doesn’t only smell good but has magnificent views of London.
As a company, A Million Ads focus on different topics each quarter but this was the first time they had unconscious bias training. They wanted to increase staff self-awareness and have a couple of tools to help them moving forward.
In a whirlwind 60-minute workshop, Selina helped participants dive headfirst into the labyrinth of their own minds, playing detective to uncover the sneaky blind spots lurking in their decision-making.
It was a gathering of creative geniuses, all too familiar with the art of thinking outside the box, especially when conjuring up the next big ad. My pitch? This workshop was merely the appetizer.
Kicking things off, we played a rousing round of true or false, putting our brainy beliefs under the microscope. The team then discovered that our beliefs and past adventures shape our thoughts more than we realise, and these hidden biases could lead to potentially embarrassing situations in the future.
