Presentation Skills at Bauder
Lead Happiness Consultant Dave Keeling doesn’t know much about roofs, but luckily for him, he does know about presentation skills, and it was happy in that knowledge that he hot-footed it to Ipswich for a day’s training with ten candidates from Bauder (a leading manufacturer of commercial flat roof systems in the UK).
The day was designed to help the gathered protagonists feel more confident and creative when it comes to presenting/facilitating, either virtually or in person. Dave put together a full itinerary of practical tips, tricks and techniques, including:
- Fast and slow thinking
- The amazing brain
- What makes a great facilitator/presenter?
- The 4 Ps for presenting – Presence, Pictures, Planning, Participation
- Storytelling
- How to frame content and make it engaging.
- How to push an idea or frame an idea/position using the PROOF persuasion model –
- Generating ideas for making content relatable and fun using comedy grams
- Expansive thinking and a plethora of warmups to keep it fun.
The presentation skills session was not only full of reflection, learning and laughs, but the participants all left with a newfound confidence in how to handle presenting and/or facilitation in the future.
Unfortunately for Dave, he still doesn’t know much about roofs, but he was provided with a scotch egg for lunch and went home a very happy man.
