Menopause Awareness at Croydon Training Hub

Laughologist Kerry Leigh spent time with Croydon Training Hub talking about menopause with a range of staff who work in medical practices, including GPs, nurses, and office staff. The large and varied buffet of physical and mental symptoms was discussed, their impact and how to support and listen to people who are finding this time of their life a challenge.

It’s important not to get all hot and bothered around the topic, and Kerry and the Croydon Training Hub folk had fun quizzing on the menopause to review knowledge, sharing best practices, and discovering how positive humour can be empowering and bonding for people experiencing the menopause, and their partners at home, or their friends at work.

For example, they found humour and power in using different language around the menopause, with, “I’m having a ‘power surge’” instead of a ‘hot flush’. Owning it!
