Don’t Stress! Our resources for Stress Awareness Month

So we know that the worst thing to say to someone who is stressed is, “Don’t stress.”  And even asking, “Are you stressed?” heightens our awareness of our stress. But seriously, don’t stress, as we’re here with some helpful hints and tips for stress awareness month.

Throughout the month of April, we’ll be sharing some helpful resources like these that can help you manage your stress and even use it as a helpful signal from your brain.

Why Stress Awareness Month?

Stress Awareness Month has been held every April since 1992 to raise awareness of the causes and cures for our modern-day stresses. It’s the time when we have an opportunity for an open conversation on the impact of stress. A good place to start is at work; maybe ask people what they do to de-stress and share these ideas to help everyone and reduce the stigma of mental illness.

What else are we doing?

  • We’ll be sharing blogs on ‘Hacking Stress’ and some of our old blogs on how to manage stress and support others
  • You can attend our FREE webinar, ‘The Stress Effect’ – to help you think differently about stress. You can book on here
  • You can also follow us on social media, where we’ll share more free content about stress awareness and techniques to hack your happiness hormones. Follow us @laughology on Twitter and LinkedIn or on Instagram at the_offical_laughology.

And if you are concerned about someone, here are some ways to ask them if they need some support:

  1. How are you doing? …
  2. Is there anything you want to talk about? …
  3. Have you been eating and sleeping? …
  4. What can I do for you? …

And to help you right now, here are some instant stress-busting techniques:

  1. Break down big problems into smaller parts. Take one step at a time.
  2. Turn on some chill music or your favourite dance tracks and shake it out
  3. Phone a friend and talk to them; they’ll help you put things in perspective.

Stay tuned for more stuff throughout April!
