Creating the right environment with King

Dave loves an excuse to build up his fridge magnet collection of places he’s visited, so leapt at the chance to embark on a tour of King’s (gaming company extraordinaire) European offices to deliver the first part of a 3-step communication programme called Big Chats Little Chats.

So, with tickets to Barcelona, Berlin and Malmo booked (and one eye on the gift shops), Dave boarded a plane to kick off the programme with a full-day session on creating the right environment.

Trying not to be distracted by snacks, ping pong tables and a slide through the middle of the building, Dave put together a fun-filled, informative and reflective session on what we can do as individuals to contribute to the environment in which we find ourselves and, in the session with the team at King, he explored, among other things:

  • DOSE of happiness
  • Psychological safety – behaviours we want to see
  • What makes a great environment
  • The power of laughter and humour
  • Active listening
  • The PAOFF model of Big Chats, Little Chats
  • Transactional Analysis – for better interactions
  • How to create a rebel boardroom
  • Action Learning for future-focused thinking

The energy, contributions and fun were there from the get-go and in between the snacks, Fika time (Swedish for tea and cake) and games (yes, he did have a go on the slide), the day was a success, and Dave came home with three new fridge magnets.

King Brilliant!

If you’d like to explore our Big Chats, Little Chats programme, contact Doug – doug@laughology.co.uk to find out all about it. Frankly, if you’ve got a slide and some Swedish cake, we’ll like you all the more.
