Work overload with Sopra Steria

In the last twelve months, work patterns have changed beyond recognition. Some new ways of working are for the better, but some mean we are working longer and harder than before, and being less productive.

With back-to-back online meetings and constant interruptions, it feels like we’re overloaded with work. So, it’s no wonder Sopra Steria asked the Laughology experts if we could help.

Stephanie Davies, Laughology’s Head of Happiness and CEO, came to the rescue and delivered a 60-minute interactive online session that looked at how we can manage our time better, positively challenge back when meetings are unproductive and get a grip on our workload.

The session covered everything from the Pomodoro technique to time management, as well as techniques to help you feel in control in the moment. Thus allowing you to be able to think and plan better.

The session covered why we feel overwhelmed and overloaded, as well as how to manage a calendar that doesn’t give you time to breathe, eat or go to the loo. The 60-minute, fun-filled session looked at practical ways to manage workload and get back to feeling motivated.

Stephanie shared a few simple techniques that can help prioritise workload, say ‘no’ politely and work more efficiently. The session also covered:

  • Understanding how to manage workloads that seem unmanageable
  • Tools and techniques to prioritise and plan
  • Ways to positively challenge and negotiate timelines
  • What to do when stuck to become unstuck and get stuff done  
  • Getting your oomph back to be a work ninja
