Stephanie Davies is Laughing Cow

Got a cheesy triangle? Need someone to plug it? Call Stephanie Davies.

Laughology’s CEO and Head of Happiness (who loves cheese and lists the triangle as one of her favourite shapes) is so knowledgeable about the science of laughter that she was enlisted by Laughing Cow – purveyors of fine soft cheese shapes – in their recent marketing campaign which extolled the benefits of laughter during lockdown.

Stephanie worked with the Laughing Cow PR team to develop research about how laughter has helped people during the pandemic. Of course, we’ve always known laughter is the best medicine and the research confirmed this.

79% of Brits cited laughter as the thing that got them through lockdown. 55% of Brits had made more effort to do things that made them smile. Laughter (23%) ranked higher than both exercise (19%) and sex (13%) for feel good factor.  Over half of those questioned (53%) stated that watching funny videos online brought them light relief, whilst over a third (38%) said they received their laughter fix during virtual calls with friends and family.

We know you’ve been watching our Laughology learning bursts that combine humour and learning. You can see more of them here.

During the campaign, apart from free cheese, Stephanie Davies also benefitted from working with her comedy actor girl crush, Emily Atack. You can listen to the Laughing Cow Showreel here

The top 10 ways Brits found laughter were:

Watching funny videos (53%)

Virtual calls with family and friends (38%)

Listening to the radio (22%)

Reading a funny book (16%)

Virtual events such as pub quizzes, online classes (15%)

Trying things for the first time (14%)

Searching and listening to jokes online (14%)

Listening to comedy podcasts (14%)

Playing pranks on friends and families (12%)

Creating funny videos on TikTok (7%)

You can be part of the research and upload your funnies to the Laughing Cow Facebook Laughter Hub. You’ll find more information here from Stephanie and the Laughing Cow team.
