Spreading happiness with our Happiness Fund

You may have noticed things have been a bit quieter with the Happiness Fund Spreading.

We’re doing a bit of reworking how we do things based on feedback. Our 2022 fund meant we gave away £10,000 to some amazing charities and community projects. These included Harrow Cycle Club, where the funding was used to buy a new accessible bike to help make learning to ride a bike more inclusive for people who find a traditional two-wheeler bike more difficult to use.

We also funded Bambers Inclusive Swimming – helping buy more equipment and making swimming accessible for everyone.  More recently, we awarded Elimu, helping them to create even more brilliant content to support Black youth with businesses and mentors to reduce the racial wealth gap. Stay tuned for news of more winners soon.

Each project received a happy £2500 for their inspiring work and to help expand their happiness remit, and they did this brilliantly.  We want to spread more happiness and ensure we’re doing this in a way that is as fair and helpful as possible.

Based on feedback, we want to open the funding for a little longer and give away more chunks of happiness dollars. So what we aim to do in 2023 is to give away 2 x £4500 to worthy happiness projects. We also want more time to look through the brilliant applications we receive.

To do this, we’re spreading out the happiness fund giveaways throughout the year. We will share more information on this on the Happiness Fund page soon. Please bear with us.  We’re a tiny organisation trying to do big things to make people happy. We don’t have loads of people, but the people we do have are brilliant, and we need to look after them too.

Doing things in a better way takes us a little time, and we’ll let you know the next steps very soon.
