Shepherd and Wedderburn Embraces Positive Thinking with Laughology

Stephanie Davies, CEO and Head of Happiness at Laughology, was invited to collaborate with Shepherd and Wedderburn, a prestigious law firm, to develop their solution-focused thinking and positivity.

Known for their high-performing culture, Shepherd and Wedderburn’s legal teams excel in detail and thoroughness. Exactly what you need and expect from lawyers.  However, these characteristics can mean risk aversion and can impact growth and innovation. This is a common challenge in the legal field and can often stifle adaptability and new ways of working, crucial for thriving in today’s dynamic market.

Enter Stephanie Davies, who was asked to design an interactive workshop aimed at instilling a growth mindset and enhancing problem-solving skills among the firm’s senior team. The workshop, held in Edinburgh, went beyond the ordinary, focusing on embedding different thinking skills into everyday tasks with ways to spot and challenge perfectionism when it’s getting in the way of progress, thereby enabling Shepherd and Wedderburn not only to maintain but enhance their market competitiveness.

Contrary to expectations, the workshop was a resounding success, with many attendees describing it as one of the best they’ve ever experienced. It broke the mould of the stereotypical ‘corporate fun session’, providing tangible benefits for both professional and personal development. One delegate candidly admitted their initial scepticism, only to be pleasantly surprised by the workshop’s practical applications.

If you’d like Stephanie – or any other Laughologist for that matter – to help with a growth mindset and problem-solving with your team, get in touch with Doug – doug@laughology.co.uk and he’ll explain how we can help.
