Positive Communication for those who keep us well

The welfare and happiness of staff who deal with the wellbeing of the public daily can be easily overlooked in a busy NHS organisation.

Not so for Hope Farm Medical Practice who Kerry Leigh spent half a day with in November. Improving emotional intelligence is crucial for doctors, nurses and front-line office staff to help them understand themselves and others better, and therefore communicate more successfully.

Attendees learned how appropriate humour can be a useful tool in getting to know someone and breaking down barriers. Other takeaways were simple, effective tools learned from transactional analysis and unconscious bias exercises.
