Menopause Awareness sessions for West Midland Police

We continue to build on our work with West Midlands Association for Women in Policing (WMAWP) in their campaign to empower male and female officers to feel comfortable talking about the menopause.

Police forces across the UK have identified ‘the change’ as a real issue affecting a large proportion of the workforce. However, it is still considered a taboo subject by many. 10% of women quit their jobs because of their menopause experience and many others suffer in silence because they feel it is not a subject to be broached, or that they will not be taken seriously.

We are proud to be part of the police campaign and, using our expertise in dynamic, fun and creative facilitation, have been at the forefront driving discussion and debate.

Our workshops continue to be very well attended by both genders and are huge fun. Myths are debunked, knowledge and experience is shared and humour is used in a safe and positive way to enable people to relax and talk about a normal psychological and physical experience that so many go through.

As one attendee perfectly put it: ‘Let’s change the way we talk about the change.’
