Not much fazes Lead Happiness Consultant Dave Keeling, so the prospect of 70 accountants from Shawbrooks (a specialist savings and lending bank) on a warm April afternoon after a buffet of dreams was a challenge he gratefully accepted.
He needn’t have been concerned as the room was open, engaged and fun from the get-go.
The session was entitled ‘The Four Keys to a Happy Culture’ and explored how to create an environment whereby people can bring the best version of themselves to whomever they are with and wherever they are, as often as possible.
Topics with the team at Shawbrooks covered included:
- Neurology and psychology of decision making
- Fast and slow thinking – the power of a pause
- Curiosity and the art of collaboration
- Risk-taking – how to develop grit in challenging times
- Thinking /communication styles – how to speak four languages
- Active listening and trust – for building supportive relationships
- The Pygmalion effect – creating an ongoing positive impact
The session was interactive and fast-paced, with lots of laughs, not least Dave witnessing the spectacle of 70 accountants giving each other a cuddle (once seen, never forgotten!).
