Growth mindset at Fujitsu

Kerry Leigh delivered a half-day growth mindset session to 150 Fujitsu graduates.

With an average audience age range of 18-25, Kerry felt she was almost grown up enough to be there. The session was timely and well-received, as moving from the academic to the business world can bring some surprises to even the most well-equipped person.

The growth mindset workshop looked at the neuroscience of learning and the language and behaviours we use when we are in fixed or growth mindset. Delegates learn techniques to help them to shift into growth mindset, so challenges, change and ‘failures’ can be dealt with better and perceived as opportunities, rather than setbacks.

During the afternoon, paper planes were made and flown (well, some of them flew), mistakes were made, and mindset theory was used to show how we can get better at anything with the right mindset.
