Growth Mindset at BOC

Laura Drury joined in the festive spirit at BOC when she was invited to the firm’s end of year away day and Christmas celebrations to add some Growth Mindset magic.

The aim of the day was to reflect on the year and consider what they could do to best prepare for 2020.

Combining laughter and humour with the neuroscience of learning, participants spent an hour challenging the assumptions they make about themselves and others in order to progress and work ‘right’.

Awareness was key and delegates discovered factors such as:

  • Get to know how you think – start to identify how you are thinking and what you are saying
to yourself, either when things don’t go to plan, or when a challenge arises.
  • Challenge that thinking, is it helpful or a hindrance?
  • Think differently – if it’s holding you back, how can you think differently, what questions do
you need to ask to progress in a positive and helpful way?
