Delivering a range of workshops at headteacher conferences

The job of headteacher continues to expand. Today, in addition to the everyday challenges of running a school and ensuring children and parents are happy, heads need to strategically plan, support teams, control budgets and appraise.

The pressures have mounted and Laughology was on hand at three headteacher conferences last month to offer a range of sessions designed to help heads cope. We delivered at Merton, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Northwich.

We explored themes of resilience, support and how to raise standards while working positively. In the half-day and full-day sessions we looked at FLIP thinking for resilience, happiness and humour as skills for leaders and growth mind-set language for raising standards.

All three sessions were well-received and were delivered with a mix of improvisation and interactive, fun learning techniques.
