Delegates at CIPD’s Learning and Development Conference got a double dose of Laughology when Kerry Leigh and Stephanie Davies delivered an interactive improvisation session to an audience of 200.
The focus of the session was learning; specifically, how to become a self-directed learner. The duo investigated the importance of creative thinking skills and the importance of humour and happiness for engaging the brain.
For the finale, the team picked a member of the audience to help illustrate how story-telling, physicality and humour can help memory. The gentleman volunteer was encouraged to memorise ten random objects in order, simply by using parts of the body and story-telling. One of the objects given was ‘nuts’. The audience will always remember his interpretation!
