Carrot rather than stick: positivity for kids

With the current debate about education changes from course work led qualifications to old style exams, have we considered fully how this added stress will affect children’s behaviour? It’s questionable whether a single exam emcompassing years of work on a single day is a valid measure of a child’s ability.

Children are individuals and learn differently and they also respond to the stress exams may cause in different ways. Will this change lead to behavioural issues in the classroom rather than increasing the national standard of education? To help children and parents manage this proposed change (which I vehemently disagree with) its important to help children to have structure which starts at home.
