About

Fun, science-backed techniques that support workplace happiness, transform behaviours, shift mindsets and creates high-performing people and teams.

Prefer rigid, formal learning? Then Laughology probably isn’t your thing.

How it started

Laughology was founded by comedian and behaviour change expert Stephanie Davies in 2006, at a time when the corporate world was still in the happiness Dark Ages, believing that productivity resulted when people worked longer and harder.

No one was linking laughter with learning or happy people and productivity. There’s a reason why she’s called the Head of Happiness. She knows her stuff and was a pioneer in creating workplace happiness.

Using her stand-up performance skills and psychology training and knowledge, she’s created a learning and development consultancy like no other built on science, humour and a belief in real behaviour change.

The Laughology Methodology

At Laughology, we’ve cracked the code for creating for creating workplace happiness.

Our approach is grounded in the neuroscience of humour, laughter and happiness. Learning with Laughology is dynamic, interactive, and laugh-out-loud fun – a far cry from the soul-crushing monotony of traditional training.

But we’re not just here for the laughs. Humour is a powerful tool for learning and behaviour change, and it’s backed by science.

Our team of experts have (link back to team page?) studied the neurological processes behind humour and laughter to create an approach that delivers real results – from resilience training to growth mindset development.

This isn’t about gimmicks – it’s about rewiring the way people think, act and work.

The Sciencey Bit

Brains love to be tickled – metaphorically speaking. Laughter and humour light up the brain’s reward centre, flooding it with feel-good neurochemicals like dopamine and endorphins. These happy hormones help create strong memories, which is why you’re more likely to remember a great punchline than a dry statistic.

Whether it’s culture change, leadership development or mental wellbeing, humour makes it memorable.

How it works

We don’t just make people laugh – we make them think differently.

Using humour as a catalyst, we tackle difficult messages, shift mindsets, and support real organisational change.

Whether it’s embedding new ways of working across global teams or helping managers and leaders adopt practical tools they can use every day, we deliver results that stick.

We’ve partnered with some of the world’s biggest brands – HSBC, Starbucks, O2, Nando’s, NatWest, and more – to deliver leadership training, culture change programmes and everything in between.

Our informal, creative style may not be for everyone, but our track record speaks for itself.

From bespoke leadership training and team development programmes to transformative workshops and inspiring keynotes, we offer virtual and in-person sessions globally. Whether you need us for 90 minutes or 90 days, we work with teams of all sizes and across industries.

More than just learning

Laughology is about more than training; it’s about transformation. Our unique approach to workplace happiness helps organisations shift mindsets, build resilience, and create positive, sustainable cultures where people thrive.

Our practical tools and techniques empower teams, managers, and leaders to embed change into everyday working life – making workplaces not just better, but happier.

We don’t apologise for being different because we know it works. And once you’ve experienced the Laughology effect, so will you.

Ready to Laughologise your people?

It was a great workshop, just what we needed. I asked Laughology to help us approach change in a way that actually connected with our people. No fluff, or preachy slides – just smart tools. The energy was great and a down-to-earth style that made people engage and make a real difference. People still talk about it.

Wellbeing and Happiness

At Laughology, workplace happiness isn’t a gimmick or a quick morale boost.

Our research-led Happiness Matrix is the foundation of everything we do. A framework for people and organisations to truly flourish, it’s built around the core skills people and organisations need: confidence, resilience, strong relationships and the ability to grow and adapt.

It underpins our approach to learning and development, from leadership and communication to mental wellbeing and behaviour change. Because when it comes to positive workplace cultures, making shift happen starts with better thinking.

And better thinking begins with humour and happiness.
