Growth mindset at the 2017 Everywoman forum

Earlier in the month, Stephanie Davies delivered a key-note talk on Growth mindset for overcoming bias to over 500 delegates at the 2017 everywoman Forum: Advancing Women in Technology. It was the UK’s largest tech forum for women and was attended by forward-thinking futurists, business leaders in tech and some of the finest motivators and professionals in female development.

The event promoted gender balanced teams and our session focussed on the importance of growth mindset for thinking differently. During the keynote Stephanie explained how developing the right mindset can overcome self-limiting beliefs and so build gender balance, encouraging women to excel in a sector that is still male-dominated. Delegates were encouraged to embrace possibility and develop self-belief. The keynote took a look at the neuroscience of unconscious bias and our self-limiting bias as well as the bias we hold against others. Introducing the Pygmalion effect and how we can use cognitive and questioning techniques based on growth mindset to move forward and creative diverse teams and industries.

The tech industry is built on growth mindset, it constantly innovates and improves, and so our themes resonated with the forum and ensured our session was a roaring success.
