First gig back in September and Lead Happiness Consultant, Dave Keeling, was thrilled that he only had to travel 6 miles down the road – he’s only just got used to having a lie in!
The mission was a half-day full staff INSET on growth mindset (socially distanced of course) at our Lady’s Prep school in Crowthorne, Berkshire. The objective was to introduce Laughology’s ideologies, as well as embedding the importance of a growth mindset among the staff. Here at Laughology, we know this way of thinking comes from the top down, not the bottom up.
Despite the impact of distancing, lack of physical contact and more hand sanitiser than you can shake a stick at, Dave managed to create a session that was fun, informative and gave clear and specific examples of next steps , ideas and follow ups.
He also provided a much needed, positive shot in the arm for staff members who were anxious and concerned about teaching in the confines of the ‘new normal’.
Cramming the morning’s session with lots of humour, stories, conversations and practical tools (including our FLIP-It Thinking model) encouraged participants to explore their thoughts, feelings and ideas, helping them to feel ready to embrace the changes, challenges and uncertainty of the terms ahead.
How very growth mindset!
