One of the best things about being a Laughologist is that you get to learn a bit about a lot of different professions and areas of expertise. Although she once sang (badly) on a recording of Amarillo, Sarah Creegan didn’t have that much knowledge of the music world until she recently worked with the streaming managers at BMG. What fascinating jobs they have!
The session was on Presentation Skills and was held online during the evening so that people from many different countries could attend.
Unfortunately, nobody spotted Sarah as the ‘next big thing’ in the music industry, but by the end of the training, everyone had a better understanding of how to:
- Read and warm up the room
- Tell stories
- Feel more confident and well prepared
- Use humour and laughter to build relationships, pitch and not be ‘too salesy’
Let’s just say that we’re fully aware of Sarah’s singing skills and are happy to report that she’s decided to only sing in the shower. Phew – time to take the earplugs out.
If you’d like some presentation skills training for your team, get in touch with doug@laughology.co.uk. We can confidently say he won’t sing on the phone to you either.
