Mental health and wellbeing with Sandwell and Birmingham NHS Trust

Have you ever heard Sarah Creegan share her story about a Well Woman check, an overly chatty nurse and a ‘medical rummage’? If not … lucky you!

When the Women and Children’s Health Team at Sandwell and Birmingham NHS Trust booked Sarah to facilitate an afternoon of FLIP-it Thinking recently, we knew she would seize her moment and overshare. Apologies!

Sometimes things happen, and, at the time, they’re mortally embarrassing. However, two hours, two days or two years later (depending on how cringe-worthy they were), we tell our mates, and they’re really quite funny; we can put them into perspective.

Doing so helps us to be:

  • Less catastrophic
  • More philosophical
  • More resilient and better able to cope

In the 3 hour session, the fabulous medics and their admin teams had lots of opportunities to identify any wonky, irrational thoughts they may have, talk through some potentially challenging situations, and, of course, take part in lots of fun activities.

By the end, everyone had committed to doing something slightly differently going forward to support their mental health and wellbeing.

If that sounds good, and you’d like a similar session, contact Doug – doug@laughology.co.uk

Embarrassing stories are optional, but if Sarah has that glint in her eye, hunker down!
