Dave Keeling loves a double act, and therefore, he jumped at the chance to be the Ant to Laughologist Kerry Leigh’s Dec as they were invited to run two workshops at the VirginMedia O2 graduate event in Leicester.
Kerry arrived in a pink boiler suit (Dave didn’t get that memo), and both were ready and raring to deliver to 200 hundred apprentices and graduates around growth mindset. The purpose was to encourage the gathered throng to explore the themes of accountability, positive attitude and action.
The two sessions, through a mixture of activities, interaction and practical strategies, delved into:
- The amazing brain – how we think and behaviours that block our brilliance
- Good humour ingredients – what we do when we are at our best
- Thinking communication styles – how to dial it up or down depending on who we’re with
- Metacognition – how to think about thinking
- Cycle of change – a mindset for action-based learning
The sessions whizzed by and the audience was engaged, open and honest throughout. Kerry shot off back to Stockport, and Dave shot off to buy a pink boiler suit (in a large).
