The more lead Happiness Consultant Dave Keeling goes into organisations, the more it appears that the majority of professionals are dealing with rapid change, with seemingly little or no time to manage it.
It was with this in mind that Dave breached the Wiltshire borders to work with several groups of managers at HCRG Care Group (one of the UK’s largest community services providers). The task was to enable those present to develop a more growth mindset approach within themselves and their teams.
The organisation has recently undergone significant transformations, and understandably, that has affected many people involved.
Luckily, Laughology was on hand, with its approach of making the complex simple and arming the delegates with practical and actionable techniques that help them seek out the positive opportunities within their teams.
In a variety of ways, the session covered:
- How we process thoughts (and what to do with the ‘wonky’ ones)
- The Cycle of Change – how to approach every situation with an open mind
- Difference between fixed and growth mindsets
- Curious question to help unlock fixed thinking and create learning opportunities
- The four pillars of psychological safety
- Fast and slow thinking – how to create space and time to choose something different
- Metacognition – how to think about thinking
- The Learning Pit – learning as a process and where you are in it
The 3-hour session was the perfect post-lunch tonic that, through a combination of laughter, practical activities and conversations, left everyone feeling refreshed, reassured and ready for what comes next.
