Case Study: Laughology at CIPD Festival of Work 2025

Curtis, Doug and Steph D hit the CIPD Festival of Work at London’s ExCeL (11–12 June) with one goal: to raise brand awareness and show thousands of L&D professionals how laughter and fun can transform workplace culture.

We wanted to stand out, spark curiosity, and prove our unique approach gets real results, and so armed with Curly Wurlys, torches, pens, back scratchers and those cheeky Squidgy People, we had over 600 meaningful conversations.

Our name alone drew people in.

Steph D took to the stage with her teaser talk, “It’s Only Banter”, exploring the power of laughter and play in building healthy workplace cultures. She shared practical tools to help attendees reduce toxic banter and create environments where people thrive.

The result?

  • 600+ leads captured
  • Rave reviews for Steph D’s session
  • Brand buzz across the floor
  • And a CEO who packed down the stand and carried the kit to the car – leading by example, as ever.

We also ran a prize draw for a free Laughology workshop – and the winner was Sophie McCracken (Foxtons – L&D Consultant – Acquisitions and Integration). We look forward to Laughologising Foxtons very soon!

“Laughology didn’t just show up – we showed off what’s possible when learning and laughter come together. The buzz around our stand proved people are ready to make shift happen.” (Curtis – Laughology’s Comms Lead)
