Flipping the Script on Change with the Archdiocese of Liverpool

When an organisation is going through big changes, even the most committed teams can start to feel a bit… well, wobbly.

The Archdiocese of Liverpool knew that if they wanted to support their staff through a period of transition, they needed more than a motivational poster and a strong cuppa. They needed tools, laughter, and a little FLIP-it Thinking.

Enter our Laughologist, Louisa Rodriguez.

She joined their team day to run our bespoke FLIP session – a workshop designed to help people reframe challenges, shake up stuck thinking and build resilience with a good dose of humour thrown in.

Through interactive activities (because nobody wants a three-hour lecture) and plenty of lively discussion, the team explored tools like:

  • Spotting and switching ‘wonky language’
  • Breaking unhelpful thought patterns
  • Using imagination and humour to shift perspective

By the end of the session, the team weren’t just nodding along – they were making commitments to apply what they’d learned.

From catching themselves in unhelpful thinking loops to focusing on what they can influence (rather than spiralling about what they can’t), the energy in the room had shifted.

As one participant put it:

“Louisa was very engaging and helped start conversations in our team.”

Which is exactly the point. Because real change doesn’t start with a spreadsheet. It starts with a conversation, a mindset shift – and maybe a few laughs along the way.

Standing up for Lagans!
