Who or what makes you laugh until it hurts?
Everything and anyone on a good day.
What would your superpower be?
Time travel.
What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to you?
Your light makes people smile.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you?
When I first went skiing, I couldn’t understand how to stop properly, despite being shown, so I threw myself into the snow. It’s okay, it doesn’t hurt anymore.
What’s your mantra?
What’s for you won’t pass you by.
Selina has over 11 years’ experience in facilitating, spread across the corporate, educational and creative world. She began her career within social policy working for a Local Authority, before making the courageous or (some would say) crazy move to re-train as an actress and writer, returning to her childhood dream and passion from when she performed in The Polka Theatre.
Since then, she has created and led International Women’s Day workshops for several years with large organisations such as Catalyst Housing Association to increase confidence and empower women within the community, as well as domestic violence survivors through charities like Rise.
As an advocate of inclusivity in all areas, she has worked with Inspiring Futures and Mercury Theatre, to help drive inclusive education practices within the National Curriculum. As a consultant, Selina has collaborated with teachers to create more inclusive classrooms that celebrate their students’ diverse backgrounds and cultures.
She has worked with The Federation of Entertainment Unions, who work alongside the large unions in the arts such as The Writers Guild, where she created a programme to inspire professionals during the pandemic, to increase creativity, productivity and motivation.
