Open University – educating the educators workshop

During December 2015 Laughology were  asked to speak to a variety of workers from the Open University based in Cambridge.

Stephanie had worked with the group last year on FLIP, a workshop which builds resilience and positive thinking into organisations, and thay were keen to have a follow up session despite the recent news that this arm of the Open University will be closing and that everyone would need to either relocate to another University location, redeploy to a new role in another University location, work from home, or take voluntary severance or early retirement (tough gig eh!!).

Well they say assumption is the mother of all f**k ups, but not in this case.

Dave Keeling spoke to the group about risk taking, managing change, socratic dialogue, curiosity, critical thinking and encouraged them to see this dramatic change in circumstances not as the end but instead an opportunity to do something different.

The response from the delegates was incredibly upbeat and everyone left with a feeling of positivity and the desire to take action.

Fabulous way to end the 2015 for Laughology.
